I’ve been lately getting into this writing thing and I wanted to tell you about a realization that I’ve had.
I feel good about writing and to be honest it’s like writing a journal so anything really goes. There are no rules if it’s good or bad and I do think this is a fine way to think about creation in general.
To see it as good and something that is created out of the enjoyment of the creation itself, so there’s no rules if it’s not good or anything like that.
Like, that rule if it’s of good quality or not doesn’t apply to journaling, since it’s more like a therapy session that you’re doing.
So I think this rule has to apply to generally posting online too.
No Rules of Goodness
So I’ve been getting my head around this new mindset around creating stuff and it really comes down to this. It’s much easier to create when we have a proper set of beliefs around a subject for example writing and the fact that it doesn’t have to be good in order to get written.
What Is An Avatar?
So what is an Avatar? It’s like an incarnation of the Divine and I wanted to let you know that this is actually the human experience.
The human experience is all about knowing ourselves as Avatars of the Divine, I think.
So that means we’re all an incarnation of the Divine Energy and Consciousness that the manifest and unmanifest universe is all about.
So creation is like writing a journal, if you’ve ever written a journal there should exist no rules there if the entry is a good entry and entertaining to audiences or if it’s just another entry there.
Making Sense?
So I hope this makes sense and I do think this is what creativity should be all about, like a journal entry that has no rules that make it hard to produce. It’s like I’d rather publish a blog post that isn’t that great, than leave it unpublished, because it’s like writing a journal after all.
And there are no bad journal entries, so there would be no bad creations if we look at the art creation process like this.
So there should be a rule that even if you don’t really like what you came up with, you should still publish it.
For example from what I’ve heard, deadmau5 didn’t really like how Strobe came about, he didn’t think it’s a good song but he still published it, and it became his most famous work to day with it’s hundreds of millions of streams.
So you should always be publishing and leave out all judgements about the creation and just publish it instead.
That Would Be A Cool Technique
So the technique in question could be like “Remember to publish, even if you don’t feel like it”..
Because creativity is like writing a journal. Creating art is like creating one more journal entry.
So there are no rules if it’s good or not, that is out of question if it’s bad it shouldn’t be published.
Publish it even if you think it didn’t come out so good. Write it, even if you think you don’t have anything cool to add to the conversation.
That’s how this blog post came about. I really didn’t feel like starting to write anything because I was “feeling uncreative”.
The Well of Infinite Water
Creativity in this way becomes The Well of Infinite Water. You can always pump more water from it, and it tastes very good and is pure.
I’m still aiming to hit like 800 words for this post so I got to keep writing more. Maybe you’ve noticed that I go meta in my posts and I write about writing itself, which feels really funny and is another one of those things to feel uncomfortable about as the writer of it.
But like said, deadmau5 didn’t like Strobe and it is his most famous song, so maybe the same applies here that even if I think I don’t have anything fancy to say, I should still smash my keyboard because that’s how writing works.
So still got a few points to write about in this post so what should I say?
I Didn’t Know What To Say, So I Said It
If you don’t know what to say next, say that you don’t know what to say next. That is the process I am talking about. In a journal you would type that “Well, I’m just bored and can’t think of what to write here”.
So write that. And let the process take you to your ultimate destination as a divine avatar that doesn’t care if your text is good or not according to some standard out there that doesn’t even exist.
And the writing shall be good.
