FINANCIAL PLANNING

Written on: May 29, 2026

Hey there, my dear reader. So, recently I was looking at my behaviours and I decided that I need to get more effective. Not to bore you with the details, but I came up with this idea of making lists so I can process data a little bit faster. Pretty weird, huh? That is just what my contemplations and practicing my craft has lead to. Anyway. What I discovered doing some economical mathematics was pretty shocking. I came up with this list of monthly expenses.

So I came up with this list of my monthly expenses. And it made me laugh out loud. What does good finance look like?

- Rent 1000

- Food 600

- Clothes 150

- Shaving 20

- Showering 20

- Weed 600

- Essential items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste 20

- Alcohol 300

- Drugs 500-1000

- Internet courses 300

- Instruments 150

- Tobacco 600

- Computers 1000

- Phones 1000

- Subscriptions such as TIDAL. UKKO, DistroKid 150

- SaaS and software like Vegas. Toon Boom the latest one 150

- Electricity 40

- Books 80

- Water 20

- Courses to learn stuff 250

- All of this shit for Jose

- Stuff for the house like plants and plantcare

- Paper and pens

- Partying 3 nights per week = entry 10, drinks 50, buying someone drinks 20, taxi 55 PER NIGHT = 130 per night = 390 per week =

- Giving away to charity 100 euros per month

So this is the list of my expenses each month. I went ahead and calculated it's something like 5000 euros per month. So 60k per year. Just the list of personal expenses I have JUST TO LIVE A LIFE CONSIDERED NORMAL.

Like it's not even into big spending league yet. It's jut 5000 euros per month just to have a normal lifestyle. Not too many luxuries in there. So then I considered this; how many percent of Finns actually earn 5000 euros per month?

Okay I will Google it. Here we go.

Approximately 15 to 20 percent of full-time wage and salary earners in Finland make 5,000 euros or more per month.

So 80% of Finns which is considered a rich Western country, actually live with less than 5000 per month. I didn't even add travel expenses in my list but they're like quite a bit if you've got kids and a car. Also this list doesn't have calculations for people with families.

So yeah, my shocking realization is this = 80% of Finnish people are actually poor. They don't make enough to sufficiently save up and perhaps give to others. It really is making me compassionate for the economical well-being of humanity at large.

So what's wrong? Does humanity as a system lack the necessary resources and systems to actually provide for humans to live economically abundant lives? I am starting to believe that yes, indeed. So we live still in times of economical scarcity.

So yeah. Also taxation is high in Finland so even if you earn 10k per month you lose 50% of it as income tax, right?

SO EVEN AT 10K EVERY SINGLE MONTH YOU'RE BARELY RICH. YOU'RE STILL KINDA POOR.

Share it with your friends and remember to plan your finances.
