I know that people make a lot of money selling on social media platforms.
For me, however, I have been posting for 10 years and I have made almost nothing.
If I had been cold calling people for 10 years every single day, I would probably be a millionaire by now.
The Realization
Some people do make a lot of money with blogging for example or by being influencers, that is true too. But then there’s me making no money from Google traffic because I don’t have any.
So it’s not a black and white thing. But cold calling is a field that almost nobody is doing. Posting on social media, every single person is doing it right now and trying to make money doing it.
But I am not saying that you shouldn’t post on social media and make passive income and all that good stuff.
I am simply saying that telemarketing is really non-saturated.
If you want to make money quick if you need rent money and shizzle like that, then making a YouTube video isn’t going to help much. At least for me that hasn’t been the case. I’ve made loads of content and I haven’t been paid at all from it.
Cash Money Incoming
If you need to make 500 to 10000 dollars or euros, then there are also other ways of doing it rather than YouTube.
I almost don’t want to say this because I think creating content is great but to make 1000 euros with telemarketing is simple and straightforward and you can do it in 1 to 2 weeks if you’re active. and getting a 1000 euro royalty payment from Spotify or YouTube is difficult as hell and takes a lot of work.
Please don’t take this the wrong way because this isn’t some black and white thing. But if you want to make 1000 euros, the quickest way is not YouTube royalties. The quickest way is to get people to pay you and sales is the skill aimed for that.
And from my experience, the telephone is a top tool for salespeople.
And I know there’s exceptions out there of people who went viral and made millions but that’s not the case for most people let’s be real here.
If you want a real opportunity to become a millionaire, you need a solid source of income and salespeople are some of the best paid people out there. They make a lot more than indie Spotify musicians.
Even people who make social media content get their paychecks also from marketing clients such as brands who want to advertise. Not just royalties from YouTube videos.
Getting 1 million views on YouTube gets you paid around 1750 dollars I think. Takes a lot of effort to achieve for most people. Trust me, I’ve tried it out and I have like 500k views on YouTube and it has taken me like 500 hours of work.
Making 1750 dollars by selling something in B2B cold calling can be done in a single phone call if you’re for example got knowledge of WordPress and you can demonstrate the superiority of your website compared to their website.
You can literally make 1750 in one phone call. I know there’s outliers there of people having made that money in making a few videos too but to be honest that is pretty rare and can’t be really reverse engineered that easily.
I’m saying this to the person who is struggling financially and perhaps feeling horrible due to it. I’ve been there and still am. I’ve got a lot of debt, like 10k or so.
All I’m saying is that if you aren’t succeeding in YouTube or social media in general, don’t let that stop you. There are alternatives to it and you can earn a lot if you do B2B sales as an example.

The Outliers Are Not Always The Case
I know there’s people out there who are making enough money from being a full time musician too but if you’re looking to make real money pretty fast then THERE ARE EASIER WAYS TO DO IT THAN BEING AN ARTIST OR SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER.
If you want my honest answer, I would do social media influencing, music and such things as a hobby and have a method of making money with sales, and from my experience the telephone is a great tool for salespersons.
I know it’s not for everybody and I am not saying that it should be for everyone. If you hate cold calling then don’t do it, of course not. Most people don’t make music either and they would probably hate making music. People excel in different fields. Everyone is unique and different.
But still I must say that B2B cold calling is hot AF. It’s very unsaturated and almost nobody is doing it, and the best part about is actually this:
You can not lose any money by doing it because calling a prospect is free. It costs nothing. So it’s not that risky.
Cold Calling Sales Is A Big Opportunity
So if you don’t have a product to sell then you can also be employed by someone who does and I see a lot of merit in that. I actually know a guy much younger than me who is doing web development in a B2B setting and he’s making money that way.
And then you got your passive income sources for example YouTube videos or anything like that so it’s now just a cherry on top of the cake.
Being a full time YouTuber is damn hard to do in practice, and I tried it for 2 years already. If I had worked a sales job I would’ve probably made like 100 thousand for the time and energy spent on my YouTube which is not making at all that much.
