I’m doing a business sprint. Maybe you’ve heard of the saying that work is a marathon, not a sprint.
But this time around I am thinking outside of the box and taking a leap of faith. That means I’ll be sprinting for business now. Doing a writing sprint, that means a burst of energy in a short period of time.
Maybe some of us are really good at working in short bursts of energy?
To Run A Sprint
By that sprint I mean writing a little bit more than I would usually do because I am right now working on this writing start-up thing, which you are reading right now.
Who knows, maybe this project will become big if I work at it for 6 months. In business it’s always a gamble. You truly do not know until you’ve tried the thing if it’s going to work out or not.
So let’s see what will happen if I do this sprint first and then continue the marathon for another 6 months. A daily post would probably be on point, I think.
I’ve been aiming towards writing a minimum of 1000 words per day and I just might want to try my skills at making it 2000 words instead. That could be a cool strategy, and there would be a lot to read.
2000 Words? Are You Crazy?
That is quite a bit to write, I am sure of it.
It reminds me of people who are capable of immense acts like running marathons in the first place and I tend to think that I can do something like that too. If you know Wim Hof, he swims under ice and runs marathons without shoes in Lapland.
So if Wim Hof can do that, I guess that I can do a little bit of effort for my own goals also.
Like James Clear put it;
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
So the actions we take actually matter a lot, although our vision and goal is important to help us navigate through our time and space and make us do the proper actions.
So for me that is the auspicious goal of writing 2000 words per day. It seems like quite a goal and I just hope that I was a faster writer sometimes.
A Wall of Text Never Hurt Nobody
So it will become this glorious wall of text which is my own doing. Sounds good?
I hope it does because here we go.
All in all, I am happy that you’re with me and reading through this right now. It’s sometimes hard to know if people are enjoying what you have to say since it’s just me behind my laptop, not really seeing the reactions that people are having to my thing.
But I think that I can make some valuable things happen so it’s good to take that leap of faith and go for it.
500
500 words deep here so not too long to go towards that 2000 word goal. Interesting how effort tends to pay off, especially in the long run. If you focus on one thing for a long time, it just might be that you become very, very good at that thing and your output or system in that behavior is very efficient and it can produce desirable results. I think writing is one of these things.
The Piano Is My Teacher
The piano is my teacher in this sense since I am not that good of a player, although I wish that I was. So it has taught me about long-term effort and energy expended in that thing is crucial to make success happen over the long run.
Real success is a long term game I think, but the micro is also important and that means producing high quality work today, and doing a large enough volume of it.
So here goes my attempt at writing a great blog post. So far, so good, like a Brazilian friend of mine would say.
Brainstorming Topics To Write About
So brainstorming topics to write about is quite important and there has to be some sort of knowledge on what do people also want to read and possibly what do people want to pay to read.
I know news sites sell their subscriptions through sometimes writing about really interesting articles and I want to have this project be something of a similar nature.
So that would be achieved through consistent effort and also through being a smart entrepreneur.
Smart Work
So I call this idea ‘Smart Work’ and that means being shrewd about your work and having this knowing and being a little bit cunning and knowing about how to approach work.
Otherwise we might end up doing lots of work that produces almost nothing, although I believe there’s no need to fear doing that either.
So don’t be afraid that “my work sucks no idea in doing it”.
Just take a nap or a rest and continue. It really will pay off and you will have lot to show off later, for example I’ve kind of came up with this idea of repurposing content, for example this blog can be repurposed into a print book later or I can talk about these concepts later in YouTube videos and they should be interesting in that way.
The Purpose of Work
That’s the purpose of creating something. It always has applications you can later use it for. For example making blog posts into print books is actually a wonderful idea.
Also using blog posts as scripts for future YouTube content or simply copying it to other platforms in a short form and maybe talking about these posts later are all good strategies and I think they belong in that category of smart work.
To Write An Epic Work
To write something that is revered around the world is all about being productive and producing a high volume of work. I think that quantity leads to quality, so producing a high volume of work is the same as producing something that is high quality.
The volume is the method to get there, so remember that when it feels like nothing is taking off or that this isn’t working out.
We just got to be patient with ourselves and keep creating. Many people will be helped through our efforts, so keep that in mind.
Quantity Leads To Quality
So that’s the idea of producing a high volume of work. Quantity will lead to a high quality and high quality means selling it further down the line. So, keep making and see the magic happen.
Okay So What’s Next?
So when you’ve produced a high quantity of work, it’s a good idea to talk about your work somewhere. For example if you just finish a nice blogging session, it might be a good idea to go talk about that blog post on social media for example. Maybe create a YouTube short and post that article to that video and ask people to read it and give you comments about it.
I just might do that in regard to this blog post, so maybe you even ended up here through YouTube.
Or I might want to create a podcast episode and talk about these concepts that I’ve now written down and I got as this original content that nobody else can really serve except me, since it is indeed my work and I don’t think that anyone else would quote me on this and even if they might, it’s not quite the same as me talking about it.
Create Art
The point of creating isn’t always to make money. It’s simply to create and see that creation stand on it’s own.
For me, doing good work makes me happy, although I must say that when I start a new project like this one right here, it doesn’t have everyone’s instant attention onto it or anything like that.
I am happy that you’re watching this right now as you might be the only one or one of the few who is currently aware of this project and interested enough to be checking it out. So thank you.
The Art of Creation
So that’s The Art of Creation and it really is the ultimate game to play in my opinion. It’s like the game that is the king of all games, you can literally create a game within the game in this sense.
So yeah. I am not sure what else I would add to this blog post right here so I just might keep this one short and sweet this time around.
Just to recap, this blog post is a great topic to discuss in a podcast episode on YouTube later. So remember that when producing anything, it can be used and repurposed in a big way so remember that work is always bigger than what it seems like.
Sometimes I feel bad since my work isn’t getting the attention that some other influencers are getting but then I remember that the game has just begun and I have time to market my stuff further down the line and these blog posts can indeed be repurposed so in the end it’s a matter of volume also and that is one thing that I take pride in, is that I am capable of producing a high volume of work and one could think that I have a “high work ethic” for example.
Atleast I’ve worked now for probably one thousand hours already if not more. On different fields and niches, for example I created like 300 pieces of music in the last 4 years or so.
So they can be always shown to friends and maybe it’s a cool story to tell in a party.
Telling Stories
Become like a storyteller and you will achieve the success that you deserve. Storytelling is a very popular thing in the internet, everybody loves a good story.
So my story is that I wanted to be my own boss since a kid and these days I create these projects in the internet and add my own input here and write blog posts, create podcast, make music, all kinds of stuff that might or might not make money. But money is not end-all-be-all. I really love my autonomy doing this, I can work as much as I want and take free time off, it’s almost as if I have no job at all.
So that means lots of free time and I get to wake up when I want and never have to commute and be around doing nothing in work.
So That’s Fun
So that’s fun about being this hobbyist-entrepreneur kind a guy.
Deja Vu
I am getting a huge Deja-Vu writing this. For some reason. I think there’s been some interesting science done on the Deja-Vu and I am not sure what that points at, but anyhow.
That should be the blog post for now, thank you for sticking around to the end. If you read all the way, I’d hope that you would leave me a comment and let me know what you think, so I can see who’s reading and interested perhaps in this project of mine.
