The Golden Dawn

This is where the rubber meets the road.

Now the real challenge begins. Are you ready? For now, it’s time to sip tea with the master.

Sipping Tea With The Master

That metaphor probably means that we need to be patient and develop our grit in that sense. To have a sense of purpose is to blast through all kinds of creative blocks that might be coming our way.

I definitely feel the writers block sometimes when starting a new article for example. Sometimes it’s scary to write more, but I’ve decided that I want to see where the work will take me.

Like this hawk, we must spread our wings and fly. I definitely am feeling the excitement of where this project is heading towards. Maybe it will become an epic publishing project that many people enjoy to read. That is definitely one of my goals going further.

My strategy for writing is to just simply get started and see where the ideas will take me. I sometimes think that what I have to say isn’t that great so I should rather just not write it, but I’ve come to realize that this is just resistance speaking.

It feels daunting to start writing but once the process has been started, it becomes like downhill skiing down a hill. It becomes easy and there is no reason to stop doing it.

Secrets of the Flow State

That is one of the secrets of living a self-actualized life, is to engage in an activity that puts you into a state of flow.

The simple rule is to just get started, chop wood and carry water. Simply continue chopping wood and carrying water, as the Zen metaphor goes. The results will come when we start doing the process.

The process is what leads to the results. So if we focus on the process, the results are guaranteed. There is no way they won’t come if we do the thing.

For example if you’re looking to become a professional guitarist, there is nothing that is more beneficial to do than playing the guitar constantly.

The same rule can be applied to almost every field out there. If we do the process over and over again, reality will bend and we will start to see those results that we’re looking for.

It Takes Effort And Then It Doesn’t

Everyone has their own way of doing but I feel like this rule is universal that at first the thing is difficult but over time it becomes easy and we start to really, really enjoy it.

The Creation

Creating a thing is like using a well to bring water from underground. At first when you pump it, no water comes out of it. Then after it’s primed, we can get endless water from it.

With every pump now water is coming, and that’s how I like to look at the creative process.

That which used to be difficult now becomes easy and it’s surprisingly quick if you just know what to look for.

20 Hours

In 20 hours you will start to see results, whatever it is that you’re choosing to create.

I’ve always had the skill of doing what I love. There have never been times in my life when I didn’t do something that I really enjoy, and I think that is the secret of how I’ve ended up here as I am today.

Now I have this publishing startup on my hands and I can take it wherever I want to.

Like said, a business is your personal world in which you choose the rules. You choose things like

What does it look like

Who is it helping

It’s almost as if you’re a video game designer to be a blogger or a podcaster even, in an abstract way, those things relate to each other.

As a blogger or podcaster, you’re creating a personal reality with the words and art you choose to publish.

What To Type In

So you get to play God in this way and create your personal reality. That is the best aspect about business in my opinion.

You can literally make your website any color you wish, create any kinds of art for it and literally the possibilities are endless, and the sky is the limit.

That’s why I encourage people to be creators. It’s a good thing to be, for example I like to do design these days and it’s one of my favorite hobbies.

Creating is about so much more than the money you’re initially making from it.

If you create cool text, you can later repurpose those texts into personal worlds and works of art that you can enjoy. Almost anything can be repurposed to anything. This blog post can be printed out.

Just to illustrate this point;

As you can see, this is why writing is so powerful in my opinion. It’s one of the most applicable fields out there.

I can even talk that statement out loud in a YouTube video later if I want to repurpose it again.

So I literally repurposed or applied this blog post to make it into this digital art piece, which, by the way, can be printed out to make a cool painting.

That’s why it always pays off to write. The nature of writing is such that it can be made into other types of art also.

For example if you write cool poems, you can use them to write songs also.

Or you can write songs for someone else who wants to sing your written lyrics.

This is all due to the habit of writing.

So yeah, I am definitely sold on writing being a top skill to develop, especially if you have a natural interest in being a writer.

If you have no interest in being a writer or just don’t care to do it, maybe you can apply these tips and tricks to your field of interest.

Hope You’re Enjoying These Tips

I definitely hope that you’re enjoying these tips and I want to dive a little bit deeper with these. But those things about repurposing your texts really resonate with me as it can create beautiful art effortlessly.

Effortlessness is one of the top principles of life in my opinion, and it is one thing to really pursue with ambition and to achieve. We all look at those top performing athletes or musicians for example who are able to do the hard thing effortlessly.

So this can be applied to creating beautiful art for example.

Some of the best art out there, from what I’ve heard, was effortless to create. If you look at abstract art with beautiful colors in it, it’s sometimes just a few simple colors put on the paper and that’s about it. Yet it looks really cool and can even have a big price tag if a collector wants to buy it.

Also in writing there are many fields to specialize in and dabble in. Like for example;

Storytelling

Movie script

Poetry verses

Songwriting verses

Documentary writing or news writing

Factual texts like Wikipedia

Fiction like Harry Potter

For example, Harry Potter was a book series that was repurposed to be this successful movie series.

So there is endless possibilities when you write, and that’s why I really am happy that I chose to write 1000 words per day because it means I have endless content pretty much and endless content can even make one financially successful over the long run.

I can simply start recording myself speaking after and build on these points that I am discussing here on my blog so yeah, writing does really matter to me in that way.

So yeah that’s why being a good writer can make you wealthy over the long run, in the same way as being a good musician can make you really wealthy too.

Writing is a skillset that many businesses need and I have seen people get successful as writers in numerous different fields including ghostwriting and also just being content creators with a brand and selling their writing as a book for example.

There can even be opportunities to make quick cash if you know how to sell your expertise to for example local businesses or if you’re reaching out to people through email asking if they want to buy an article or two from you.

Creating Value

For example if you write down things that are enjoyable to read or they are helpful in some way, that format might be very successful over the long run.

Wikipedia is a very popular website for this very reason, because you’re able to find information there and people like and need information, apparently.

I personally didn’t find any quick financial success in my online creation journey, if I am being honest. There’s a bunch of people who are making like 10k per month as entrepreneurs, that is not me. I make a low income currently and I am making it from my music thus far. I only got started in writing like 3 months ago anyways, so I really don’t expect to be making millions in my first year anyway.

But I want to make this leap of faith into the world of writing, and it really is a leap of faith because currently I make no money from writing.

Money isn’t really the reason why I am doing it anyway. Although it’s nice if I get some one day.

I mostly like to spend my time writing because I enjoy it and don’t want to spend all my time playing video games either.

Mostly those people who are making a big income from mostly their internet businesses, they are actually a big inspiration to me to keep going also, because I really can see what kind of opportunity there is.

But if you’re also like me and poor and getting started, there’s nothing wrong with a day job either. It can really make life a lot easier if you have other sources of money and aren’t just trying to live off your half-baked business idea at first.

If I’m being honest I get a social support from the government so that’s why I don’t need a day job and I ask my dad for money like all the time and I spend very little so I don’t need to work a day job, although I’ve been looking to get some clients for myself to write for and there are actually people looking to hire writers of online content with a few years of experience so I might just have a chance to land a job that way.

One thing is if you’re a writer that you can land a job or a client if you’ve got a few years of experience for example and if you know also how WordPress or Squarespace work, know how to create a website and create content for it.

As A General Point

As a general point if you’re looking to become a DJ for a bar, they’re probably looking for someone who knows how to twist knobs well and play good music that the audience loves, which implies that you might be familiar with DJing.

So gaining new experience is actually valued by employers and clients alike.

So being a writer never hurt nobody even if you’re not making any money off your stupid business idea yet, you can land a job through having a project you’re working on.

It’s often what employers ask for is “do you have any experience in digital marketing?”

Then you’re like “Well I’ve done some marketing chops for my own projects so I know how to read analytics and stuff”.

“Oh yeah and I also have this cool website I built”.

That can increase your income a lot and you can actually negotiate a higher salary that way.

So Yeah

So that’s one reason to work on your projects even though they might not make you instantly a millionaire, if they’re properly applied to a certain context they can make you the coolest person in the party.

There might be a CEO out there who wants to engage their clients more online and you as a writer are like the perfect fit for that role.

And he or she is the CEO so they don’t have the time or energy to write because they’re busy doing other tasks. That’s why people often hire others to do the thing for them.

So for this text I used writing as an example but this works in most fields. The more experience you have, the better chance you have when you’re applying for jobs.

The more experience you have, the better you’re able to manage your own business.

The more experience you have in making sales and lead generation for example, the better you’re able to close deals.

Lead generation and sales means to come up with 100 people to call or email and ask them if they want to buy from you. That includes finding the people or the companies to call and finding their emails and phone numbers and actually calling them and closing the deal.

It’s actually one of the highest paying skills that I’ve ever experienced.

That leads me to the second point which is actually me and my problem. This is why this writing session is like a journal or a therapy session with myself, I arrive to these conclusions.

So I want to make more money. How can I make more money quickly?

Through getting clients to help out somehow.

So I am like a digital marketer in my spare time and know some web design. Might some people know absolutely nothing about how to do them effectively?

I’ve arrived to the conclusion that this is true. That people would actually need my talents and skills and they would be willing to pay me quite a bit if I just got in contact with them.

So I just need their contact info and I need to either email or call them and just ask them outright if they would be interested in paying me 300 euros for doing some work with them.

So I should contact 20 people about it but first I need the phone numbers or emails of these people.

So I just need to look around to find phone numbers of people that might be interested in buying my ghost writing/producing articles and stuff.

There’s actually people out there who do this and they are called freelancers.

So it’s a little bit different than selling a digital product which from my experience is a much slower business model than calling a person this very moment if he or she wants digital marketing help from me.

One thing I noticed is to go to look in a job searching website, in my case it’s this Finnish job forum. So go into there and just look at my field, what are people interested in hiring.

Then I should just email all those people and ask them what do they need from me.

Some of them would probably be interested in me doing some freelance work for them. As they’re literally offering money for someone to do work for them.

So that is one strategy and another one would probably be my favorite which is to walk around in your city or town and look at local businesses and maybe go talk to people face to face if they would be down and you can give your business card to them and ask them usually a question about the main problem that their business faces.

Or you can call businesses if you’ve got their phone numbers and try to close a deal with them. If you’re a writer you could offer to write them articles about their business with clear call to actions and they could then use and repurpose that article or whatevers.

I guess that you as my reader might be familiar with social media and trust me, there’s tons of entrepreneurs out there who know nothing about social media so you might be able to sell consulting to them in the field of social media. I know I once closed a deal for a website to a guy who ran a restaurant.

So networking is a great idea. You can use social media to network with potential clients or you can do that in events and in person.

You can use email and phone but I think you might be surprised if you actually contacted 10 to 100 people about your service you’re providing. From my experience if you call 100 people, you get 50 answered calls and from those you can close 5 sales.

Just trust yourself and it will work out.
